Fidel Castro Meets with Former President of Uruguay Jose Mujica

The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, met in Havana with former Uruguayan President Jose Mujica, who is currently visiting Cuba. The Uruguayan leader took part in the recent international conference "For All and for the Good of All," dedicated to Cuba's National Hero Jose Marti.
 

Cuban President Arrives in France for State Visit

President of Cuba, Raul Castro Ruz, arrived in Paris for a state visit to the French Republic, at the invitation of the French president, Francois Hollande.
 
The head of state is leading a delegation made up of Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, vice president of the Council of Ministers, and Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla and Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, ministers of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, respectively.
 

President Raul Castro to Carry Out a State Visit to France on Feb.1-2

Cuban President, Raul Castro, will pay an official visit to France on February 1- 2, complying with an invitation from his French counter part, Francois Hollande, Deputy Foreign Minister, Rogelio Sierra, said.
 
In statements to the press at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sierra stated that the trip to Paris -announced by the Cuban president on Dec. 29 at the Cuban parliament- confirms the excellent state of bilateral relations and political dialogue at the highest level.

The entrance to this capital of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, with the Caravan for Freedom, will be evoked today after 57 years of that historical event.
 
Authorities, as it is traditional, organized a symbolic tour in which young students and workers from different sectors are involved.
 
The Commander in Chief arrived in Havana on January 8, 1959 in tanks and other armored vehicles that were occupied to the ousted Army by dictator Fulgencio Batista.

With the gala performance "Triptico Clasico", The National Ballet of Cuba will celebrate today the anniversary 57th of the triumph of the Revolution and the reopening of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso.
 
The first act of Giselle, the second act of The Lake of Swans and the third act of Coppelia are part of the program offered by the company, founded in Cuba by prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso along with brothers Fernando and Alberto Alonso in 1948.

The UN Organization for Education, Science and Culture wished Cuba today a happy 57th anniversary of its Revolution.
 
Eric Falt, Under Secretary General of Foreign Relations of Unesco addressed a letter to Dulce Buergo, Cuban representative before the UN body, conveying "the warmest wishes" to the authorities and people of Cuba on this occasion that constitutes a reason for pride and celebration.

Cubans celebrate today the 57th anniversary of the triumph of their Revolution, a process that brought a new reality of social justice to the nation.

Cuba Braces for Celebrating 57th Anniverssary of the Revolution

Cubans today complete preparations of different activities to mark the 57th anniverssary of the triumph of the Revolution, and celebrate the new year, 2016.
 
Every year, a traditional military ceremony is held at 12:00am with a 21-gun salute from San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress, at the entrance of the Havana's bay.
 
Also, on the ocassion of the anniversary, the National Ballet of Cuba (NBC) will perform at Havana Gran Theater Alicia Alonso on January 1, and 3, opening its doors on that date after its restoration.
