Diaz-Canel commemorates the founding of the II Eastern Front

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel recalled on Friday the founding 64 years ago of the 2nd Eastern Front "Frank País", and considered it a model of organization and a decisive force for the triumph of the Revolution in 1959.
 
On Twitter, the President recalled that Rebel Army commander Raul Castro founded the front to fight the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista (1952-1958) in the easternmost region of the Caribbean nation.
 

Uruguay’s Broad Front calls for an end to blockade against Cuba

The National Political Committee of the ruling Broad Front (Frente Amplio-FA) of Uruguay has demanded the need to put an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade the United States has imposed on Cuba.
 
The eight member parties of the ruling leftist coalition unanimously agreed to condemn a policy that officially dates from February 3, 1962, when then US President John Kennedy ordered this unilateral measure.

Cuban President recalls the legacy of Hugo Chavez

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Saturday recalled the legacy of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chávez nine years after his death and highlighted the relevance of his thought in the Caribbean island.
 
In his official Twitter account, the president recalled that the fruits of the work of the president of the South American country since 1999 and until his death on March 5, 2013, are the current advances of the Bolivarian Revolution.
 

A sublime brushstroke for Cuba

Floral wreaths from the leader of the Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, and Communist Party of Cuba First Secretary Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez adorned the funeral tribute to renowned artist Ernesto Rancaño.

 

The remains of the man who painted poetry and captured the Martí dwelling in the soul of the homeland, to which he devoted his life and sublime brushstrokes, were placed in the San Francisco de Asís convent, in the historic center of Havana, for the ceremony, attended by Minister of Culture Alpidio Alonso, and many admirers.

US blockade affects Cuba’s agricultural and food sector

The agricultural and food sector in Cuba is among those significantly affected by the United States blockade, the Cuban mission at the United Nations reported on Tuesday.
 
According to a communiqué issued by the Cuban delegation, the damages caused by the US blockade in that area are remarkable and are estimated at 369,589,550 dollars from January to July 2021 alone.
 
Many of these damages would have been avoided if Cuban companies could have had access to the US market, given its prices and proximity, the text stresses.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez today described as an honor to deliver the Inaugural Conference of University 2022, an event that will be held until next Friday in the capital.
 
In his official Twitter account, Díaz-Canel noted that the event, which begins on Monday in person and virtually, brings together ministers, rectors, professors and students, Cubans and foreigners, and said that in his speech he will address science and innovation in government management.
 

Díaz-Canel recognizes Cuban universities' research projects

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, recognized on Monday the projects and research results of different Cuban universities that set up their stand at the International Congress on Higher Education 'University 2022'.
 
During a tour of the exhibition spaces, the president noted how innovation is used in terms of sustainable and inclusive development, a premise that guides the event, which is held at the Havana Convention Palace.
