Cuban President recalls the legacy of Hugo Chavez
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Saturday recalled the legacy of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chávez nine years after his death and highlighted the relevance of his thought in the Caribbean island.
In his official Twitter account, the president recalled that the fruits of the work of the president of the South American country since 1999 and until his death on March 5, 2013, are the current advances of the Bolivarian Revolution.
Another example of Chávez's actions is the foundation in Havana of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP).
"It has been nine years since the best friend is gone, but his legacy remains: ALBA is reborn, the integration of Our America will arrive. In Cuba we do not forget you," Díaz-Canel wrote.
Also the Caribbean nation's prime minister, Manuel Marrero, evoked the leader.
"Today we remember the ninth anniversary of the passing to eternity of Commander Hugo Chavez, undisputed leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, illustrious and dear friend of Cuba and Fidel Castro," he stressed.
Chavez was born on July 28, 1954 in Sabaneta, State of Barinas, he focused his policies on social projects in favor of the Venezuelan people, and during his presidential mandate, basic and strategic industries were nationalized for the development of the country.
