Bolivia Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Che''s Arrival with Books

Bolivian journalist Carlos Soria announced here today the new publishing projects his country is preparing on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the arrival of Ernesto ''Che'' Guevara to that South American nation.
 
Speaking at the International Book Fair in Cuba, he announced activities to mark the day this year and one of them is the new edition of The Diary of Che in Bolivia.
 

Raul Decorates Patriarch Kirill with Jose Marti Order

Cuban president Raul Castro decorated his Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia with the Order Jose Marti, the highest award given by the Cuban Council of State.
 
Created in 1972, the Order Jose Marti is awarded to Cuban and foreign citizens, as well as to heads of State or Government for their work in favor of peace and humanity, for their extraordinary contribution to education, cultura, sciences and sports, asfor relevant merits in creation.

Senior UNESCO Official to Visit Cuba

Qiang Tang, UNESCO''s Assistant Director-General for Education, will pay an official visit to Cuba from February 14 to 16, was reported in Paris today.
 
The official will be accompanied by David Atchoarena, Director of the Division for Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems.
 
Both confirmed their presence at the 10th International Congress on Higher Education University 2016, an important forum for exchange of ideas and discussion, which will be held at the Conference Center in Havana.
 

Patriarch Kirill to Meet President Raul Castro

President Raul Castro welcomed today at the Palace of the Revolution in Havana the leader of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Kirill, who will make a courtesy visit.
 
During this meeting, the head of State and the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia will hold official talks.
 
Before this meeting, the Primate of the second largest Christian Church in the world laid a wreath to Cuba's National Hero, Jose Marti (1853-1895), at the Revolution Square, named after the hero, and toured the facilities of the place.
 

Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment to Visit USA

Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment ( MINCEX), Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, will pay a working visit to the United States from Feb. 15 to 18, an official source in the capital reported.
 
Malmierca will lead a delegation comprised of officials from MINCEX, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Central Bank of Cuba, the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, and business leaders, Cubaminrex website posted.
 

Cuba, Spain Agree Progress in Relations

Cuba and Spain agreed today here to further progress in their relations on the basis of mutual respect and benefit, during a visit to this country of the island Council of Ministers Vice president, Ricardo Cabrisas.
 
The top official recognized Madrid's constructive role in the process ended on December 12 with the agreement reached with the Group of Creditor of Cuba in the Paris Club, regarding the restructuring of its debt at medium and long term.
 

Cuban Ambassador to Russia Commits Himself to Cooperation with Region

Cuban ambassador to Russia, Emilio Lozada, committed himself here to a substantial increase in cooperation and cultural and humanitarian ties with all administrative subjects, and promote investment in the Caribbean country.
 
Lozada stressed during a working meeting with Ivanovo region's governor, Pavel Konkov, the intention to develop to a higher level the economic and trade relations with the regions, at the same time to find new investment opportunities in the island.

Cuban Foreign Minister Meets with Visiting Palestinian Counterpart

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez met on Monday in Havana with his counterpart of the Palestinian National Authority Riad Al-Malki, who is paying an official visit to Cuba.
 
As part of his visit agenda, Al-Malki has already met with First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel, with whom he discussed issues of common interest.
