President Díaz-Canel meets Cuban intellectuals

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel met Tuesday with a group of intellectuals from the country, the Ministry of Culture informed on its web page.
 
]The Culture minister Alpidio Alonso affirmed that during the contact, which lasted more than four hours, the President checked the fulfillment of the agreements of the past Congress of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
 
In his Twitter profile, Alonso explained that Díaz-Canel insisted on the essential links between culture and the Revolution.

Eighth Congress of the Cuban Communist Party convened

Party authorities convened the VIII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba to be held between April 16 and 19, 2021, during the political rally for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the system of schools of the political organization.  
 
The ceremony was attended by the Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, José Ramón Machado Ventura, and the Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.  
 

Vietnam-Cuba friendship is a shared treasure

Friendship between Vietnam and Cuba is an example in international relations and a shared treasure of both Communist Parties, States and Peoples, said today the Vietnamese leader Truong Thi Mai.

Online youth forum to pay tribute to Fidel Castro

More than two thousand organizations from 162 countries are expected to participate at the International Youth Meeting "Ideas that are banners," which will be in session from this Tuesday until next Thursday virtually, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cuba joins ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation

Cuba on Tuesday joined the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC) of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) with the unanimous and signed approval of the foreign ministers of the 10 member states of the bloc.
 
The ceremony took place during a virtual meeting held in Vietnam, rotating chair of the bloc, and the participation of the foreign ministers of Brunei, Cambodia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
 

Italy hosts meeting of Cubans against US blockade

The National Committee of Associations of Cuban Residents in Italy (CONACI) highlighted on Saturday the significance of the first virtual meeting of Cuban residents in Europe against the US blockade.
 
In statements to Prensa Latina, CONACI Secretary Luis Eduardo Alcina noted the importance of the event to promote the fight against the isolation policy followed by successive US governments regarding Cuba and any interference in the internal affairs of the Caribbean nation.
