Cuba’s President highlights Fidel Castro’s validity

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today recalled the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the fifth anniversary of his physical disappearance, and highlighted his validity in the process of transformations of the island.
 
In his Twitter account, he recalled that Fidel Castro’s office in the Palace of the Revolution (headquarters of the executive) is preserved as he left it on his last day there.
 

Canadian company opts for doing business in Cuba despite blockade

The Canadian company Sherrit International will keep doing business with Cuba and aspires to expand it, despite the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against the island.
 
According to statements made by its president, Leon Binedell, the company plans to increase production capacities at the Moa-Niquel S.A. Comandante Pedro Sotto Alba plant, located in the eastern province of Holguín, according to the Cuban News Agency.
 

Cuba celebrates National Culture Day

Some 153 years later, the National Anthem was sung for under Cuba's largest flags that presided over the official ceremony for the Day of National Culture.
 
At the lobby of the Habana Libre Hotel, the notes of the Entrevoces Choir, under the direction of Professor Digna Guerra, National Music Prize winner, preceded the declamation of the poem My Flag, by Cuban poet and patriot Bonifacio Byrne.
 

Communist Party of Syria condemns US interference in Cuba

The United Communist Party of Syria condemned the attempts to interfere in Cuba's domestic affairs to destabilize the country, according to a statement published on Tuesday.
 
We ratify our full solidarity with the Communist Party of Cuba in light of the vile plots orchestrated by the United States administration and its agents and intelligence agencies to destabilize the situation in Cuba, noted the statement, signed by the Political Bureau of the organization.
 

Association raises funds in Italy to send syringes to Cuba

The Italy-Cuba Friendship Association (ANAIC) on Friday announced the collection of 54,000 euros to send syringes to Cuba through MediCuba-Europe, a network of associations and non-governmental organizations that makes solidarity work in the field on public health in Cuba.
 
The solidarity association stated in a communique the collection of 10,000 other euros 'intended to support Cuba in the complex emergency situation imposed by the tightening of the United States blockade,' with which the aid collected in the last two months amounts to 64,000 euros.

A loud message in front of the White House: End the blockade on Cuba!

Demonstrators unanimously demanded in front of the White House on Sunday the end of the unilateral economic siege 12 consecutive US administrations have imposed on Cuba.
 
The rally in the emblematic Lafayette Park welcomed the end of the walk, members of the solidarity organization Bridges of Love staged from Miami to the US capital.
 
People in solidarity with Cuba attended despite the threats of those who want to impose hatred on love and oppose the rapprochement between the two countries.
 

Cuban President receives congratulations on National Rebellion Day

The general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (PCV), Nguyen Phu Trong, congratulated on Monday his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.
 
Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc also congratulated the Cuban head of state on National Rebellion Day (July 26).
 

US blockade affects education sector in Cuba

 US blockade against Cuba amid the Covid-19 pandemic has a negative impact on the country´s education sector and also hinders its development.
 
According to official data, from April 2019 to March 2020 - before health emergency was declared in Cuba –blockade´s impacts on education sector reached over US$21 million.
 
Cuba´s report to be presented to the United Nations on June 23 to demand the lift of US blockade lays out that such a policy limits the country´s teaching and learning process at all educational levels.
