Cuba publishes annual report on blockade damages

Almost 60 years after its implementation, the United States blockade policy against the Cuban people is intensifying, in a context of heightened tensions impacting on the progress achieved by the two countries in the diplomatic sphere.
 
This is reflected in the Report to the United Nations General Assembly on Resolution 71/5 entitled “Necessity of Ending the Economic, Commercial, and Financial Blockade Imposed by the United States of America on Cuba,” which outlines the extensive damages suffered by the island.
 

Cuban Delegation Attends Youth Gathering in Moscow

Cuba will be represented at an international ministerial meeting on youth being held in Moscow from October 12th through the 14th.  The delegation is headed by Cuban youth leader Susely Morfa Gonzalez.
 
The meeting in the Russian capital precedes the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students, slated to begin next Sunday in Sochi.
 

Damages Inflicted by the US Blockade on the Cuban Public Health Sector Denounced in Havana

The US economic blockade against Cuba has caused damages estimated in more than 87 million dollars on the Island’s Public Health sector from April 2016 to March 2017, denounced Cuban medical doctors and students of medicine on Wednesday.
 
Several testimonies were presented at a hearing held by the Health and Sports Committee of the Cuban Parliament in the Havana-based Institute of Oncology and Radiology.

The political act and military interment ceremony of the remains of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and Mariana Grajales began this Tuesday, October 10, in the presence of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers.
 
Minutes before the ceremony began, Raúl and members of the Party Political Bureau paid tribute in a guard of honor to the two independence heroes, known as the Father of the Homeland and the Mother of all Cubans.
 

Students from Villa Clara oppose the blockade

On October 4, students and teachers from the Marta Abreu de Las Villas Central University, raised their voices in opposition to the cruel and genocidal economic , commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. on the island for over 50 years.
 
During the public debate, which saw the participation of several provincial deputies to the National Assembly of People’s Power, teachers and students from various faculties spoke about the impact of the policy on both peoples.
 

Venezuela Calls For the End U.S. Blockade Against Cuba

Cuban residents in Venezuela have called for the immediate end of U.S. blockade against Cuba and also the normalization of bilateral relations between both nations.
 
During the First Meeting of the Eastern Region of the Association of Cuban and Cuban Residents in Venezuela (ACCREVEN) in the city of Cumana, capital of the State of Sucre, on September 29, participants raised their voices against such a harsh policy, a really step backwards, according to a statement from the group.
