Cuba reinforces epidemiological measures for the prevention and control of COVID-19 and Dengue, as reported Tuesday during the meeting of the Temporary Government Working Group, headed by the First Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
 
Data offered by Doctor José Ángel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health, confirmed that COVID-19 transmission in the country increased compared to the previous month.
 

Cuba prioritizes health collaboration with Caribbean countries

At the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Health, Cuban Health Minister Jose Angel Portal Miranda held a meeting this week with the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Philip Davis, in which he reiterated the willingness to increase and diversify collaboration, both in the programs already implemented and in new ones.
 
Cuba's collaboration with Caribbean countries in the field of health is a top priority for the country, said the minister of the sector in the largest of the Antilles.
 

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Havana visits Cuban mission in Baku

The new ambassador appointed by Azerbaijan to Cuba, Ruslan Rzayev, visited today the diplomatic mission of the Caribbean Island in this city, where he was received by his counterpart Carlos Valdes.
 
During the meeting they reviewed the positive progress of bilateral relations and reiterated the mutual interest in boosting ties between the two countries, Valdes told Prensa Latina.
 

Cuba to host the General Council of the World's Democratic Youth

Cuba will host in May 2023 the General Council of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), it was announced today in this capital during the meeting of the coordinator of the anti-imperialist organization.
 
More than 60 delegates from 35 countries in Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and America approved the Cuban candidacy to host the meeting of the World Federation of Democratic Youth board of directors, to vindicate the political and social activities of the youth at the international level.

Movements in solidarity with Cuba will hold a vigil today in the city of Vancouver to demand an end to the economic, financial, and commercial blockade that the United States has maintained for more than 60 years against the island.
 
In statements to Prensa Latina, the coordinator of the solidarity project Puentes de Amor, Carlos Lazo, said that the initiative is part of others that will take place during this month to advocate for the normalization of relations between the White House and Havana and the cessation of hostilities from the North American country.

The Cuban Academy of Sciences will remember and praise today the work of the most illustrious Cuban scientist: Carlos J. Finlay.
 
A eulogy will be delivered by Dr. Nivian Montes de Oca Martínez, director of the National Center for Agricultural Health, located in the neighboring province of Mayabeque, Havana.
