Ninth anniversary of mission Barrio Adentro

June 12, Mission Barrio Aden­tro II, launched by Bolivarian leader Hugo Chávez in 2005, celebrated its ninth anniversary with positive results in the medical care it provides to the population.

Five Days for the Cuban Five concludes

A videoconference was held June 10, between Washington and Havana as part of the closing events of the 3rd Five Days for the Cuban Five. Participating in the videoconference were decorated Heroes of the Republic of Cuba, René González and Fernando González and from the U.S. a panel including lawyer José Pertierra, Gayle McLaughten, Mayor of Richmond, California, prestigious intellectual Ignacio Ramonet and Alicia Jrapko, coordinator of the International Committee for the Freedom of the Cuban Five.

Five Days for the Cuban Five draws to a close

The protest and solidarity event to which representatives from almost 30 countries - who are demanding the U.S. government release the three Cuban anti-terrorists currently incarcerated in federal prisons - is entering its final phase.
