Ninth anniversary of mission Barrio Adentro
June 12, Mission Barrio Adentro II, launched by Bolivarian leader Hugo Chávez in 2005, celebrated its ninth anniversary with positive results in the medical care it provides to the population.

Directors of Barrio Adentro stated that the program consists of Advanced Technology Centers (CAT), Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and Comprehensive Rehabilitation Rooms (SRI).
Since 2012, the mission has provided some 67 million medical consolations in areas such as cardiology, ophthalmology, clinical laboratories, ultrasounds, endoscopes, X-rays and micro-analysis systems.
There are currently 566 CDI’s , 583 SRI’s and 35 del types of CAT, in operation with possibility constructing a further 40 centers before the end of 2014.
The CDI’s are equipped with the latest and most effective medical technology and provide medicine and necessary treatments free of charge. In addition, they have a staff of highly trained medical professionals made up of, doctors, nurses and technicians, providing quality medical care.
The SRI’s meanwhile, concentrate on rehabilitation services, where minor procedures are conducted, carried out by specialist doctors and health technicians, reported PL.
In 2003, the Bolivarian government created mission Barrio Adentro I, to ensure Venezuen society full access to comprehensive, quality health care, under the principles of equity, universality and justice. Later Barrio Adentro II was born, June 12, 2005, the mission’s second program which provides free comprehensive services to all citizens through the Advanced Technology Centers, Comprehensive Diagnosis Centers and Comprehensive Rehabilitation Rooms.
With the creation of Barrio Adentro, Bolivarian leader Hugo Chávez said, “This is a sign that Venezuela has changed forever.”
