ExpoCaribe Int'l Fair Opens with a Tribute to Fidel Castro

The 16th ExpoCaribe International Trade Fair, which will last until Saturday with the participation of more than 20 countries, opened on Wednesday with a tribute to Fidel Castro at Santa Ifigenia cemetery.
 
Foreign and national delegations will recognize the contributions of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution in pursuit of the Caribbean and Latin American integration, of which Cuba's collaboration in health, education and other sectors of the economy and the society has been an exponent.
 

Cuban-private sector says the US will not push the island into submission

In statements to Prensa Latina, the professor and writer rejected the resurgence of the US blockade on Cuba and its constant aggression, after the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Law.
 

Cuba honors Jose Marti by defending Latin American unity

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said that honoring the legacy of Cuban National Hero Jose Marti is to defend Latin America's independence and sovereignty.
 
"Let us work for Latin American integration and unity.  Let us denounce imperialist domination.  This will be our just homage to Jose Marti," he wrote onTwitter -- on the occasion of the 166th anniversary of Marti's birth.

International Brigade will participate in May Day parade in Havana

The 300 members of the 13th International May Day Brigade are expected to arrive in Cuba on Monday. The members of the solidarity group hail from some 30 countries and will join the parade on Jose Marti Revolution Square in Havana on the occasion of International Worker´s Day.
 
A statement from the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) says that the group will attend the traditional Cuba solidarity meeting, scheduled for May 2 at the Convention Center of Havana.

Raúl receives Namibian Prime Minister

Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, yesterday February 15, received her Excellency Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, Prime Minister of the Republic of Namibia, who is making an official visit to our country.
 
The two leaders held a friendly conversation discussing the excellent relations shared by their peoples and governments, and reaffirmed their intention to work on strengthening these ties. They also addressed a variety of issues on the current international agenda.
