•    Arrival at the military airport of Catam.
•    Interview offered to the international press at the airport.
•    Conversation with Ernesto Samper, the new President of Colombia.
•    Fidel attended a dinner hosted in his honor by Cesar Gaviria, outgoing President of Colombia.
 
August 7
 
•    Fidel attended the ceremony of inauguration of Ernesto Samper as new President of Colombia.
 
August 8
•    Speech delivered at a meeting with the movement in solidarity with Cuba, at the ‘Salon Rojo’ of the Tequendama Hotel.
•    Interview granted to Colombian journalists at the Tequendama Hotel.
•    Visit to the Jorge Eliecer Gaitan center, also a museum.  Fidel laid a wreath on Gaitan’s tomb.
•    Visit to the then residence of Simon Bolivar while he was President. Fidel laid a wreath in honor of The Liberator.
•    Visit to the Gold Museum.
