The Vice President of the Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas, leads the Cuban delegation that participates as a guest at the Summit of the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), taking place today in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The presence of the Caribbean country in this meeting contributes to strengthen bilateral ties between Cuba and Mercosur, to promote the economic and social development of the peoples, and the progress of Latin American and Caribbean integration.

The Cuban delegation is also comprised of Manuel Aguilera, Assistant Director for the Latin America and Caribbean department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and official from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Granma newspaper reported.
