Venezuelans to Recall Che Legacy

National Library of Venezuela and House of the Americas Jose Marti will recall on June 14 the legacy of the Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla Ernesto Che Guevara to celebrate the 82 anniversary of his birthday.

The ceremony will include exhibiting a documentary on important episodes of the life of Che, who become world symbol of rebelliousness, after fighting for independence in Cuba, the Congo and Bolivia.

The House of the Americas Jose Marti will recall the significance of Che thinking by exhibiting documents and memories of Che, whose image accompanies demonstrations and concerts as an icon of young people in various countries.

La Candelaria square is another of the places chosen to honor Che.

Ernesto Guevara de la Serna was born in Rosario, Argentina, on June 14, 1928.
