Ukrainian President Visits Cuba

Ukrainian President, Victor Yanukovich, on Thursday begins a three-day official visit to Cuba, where he will hold talks with his peer Raul Castro and foster bilateral links.
 
Yanukovich expects to arrive in the Havana´s Jose Marti International Airport tonight.
 
The visitor´s agenda includes honoring Cuban national hero Jose Marti (1853-1895), and attending a managerial business forum between Cuba and Ukraine. Both countries established diplomatic relations in 1992.
 
The agenda also comprises a visit to Tarara village, a place located in eastern Havana, where some 20,000 Ukrainians affected by the accident of Chernobil have been assisted.
 
At present, there is a considerable potential to develop political, economic and trade relations between Havana and Kiev, Cuban diplomatic sources stated.
