Tag Launched by Cuba Reaches Trending Topic Category in Twitter
A tag called #Savetheworld, launched by Cuba, reached the trending topic (topic of the moment) in social network TWITTER Wednesday.
From 9:40 to 10:20 local time (15:20 GMT) #Savetheworld got the 3rd place among global topics in the world, as reported by Cuban website www.cubadebate.cu that mentioned details given by website Tweedotco.
#Savetheworld is accompanying the presentation of the book "Nuestro Deber Es Luchar" (Our Duty Is to Struggle) by Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro, who met a group of intellectuals from Latin America, Asia and Africa in February.
On February 23, a tag called #DerechosdeCuba, another tag lunched from Cuba, became a trending topic in Spain, but this is the first time in which a Cuban tag is located among the first places at international level.
That is a example of the receptiveness to the call by Fidel Castro to mobilize and face the great problems threatening mankind, said Cubadebate.
Some TWITTER users commented it was not logical that #Savetheworld had immediately disappeared, so they denounced it was a possible censorship action, because it had been in this privileged position for just 40 minutes.
The convoking was made by Cuban TWITTER members, who used an avatar inspired in the "pigeon of peace" by famous painter Pablo Picasso, which accompanies the presentation of Fidel CastroâÖs book in this capital, Quito, Caracas and Buenos Aires.
The book will be presented in other cities such as Luanda, Santo Domingo, La Paz, Mexico, Bridgetown, San Juan, Kingston, Washington, Madrid and Berlin.
