Seminar for International Relations Experts Concludes in Cuba

The 11th Seminar on International Relations "ISRI 2014" concludes today in this capital after three days of discussion on the relevance of ties among nations.

During the event, organized and hosted by the Higher Institute for International Relations (ISRI), participants discussed issues such as the impact of capitalism's crisis, the influence of history and culture in diplomacy, and regional integration prospects.

Experts also stressed questions of interest, such as immigration proceedings and professional training for international relations.

In regard to this issue, ISRI director Isabel Allende Karam stated that training honest officials with high a sense of ethics and diplomatic skills are among the priorities of the academy.

ISRI 2014 is a possibility to expand knowlegde through exchange with professors, scientists, and researchers, she said.

The official also noted that research such as those presented at the Seminar can provide elements for those working in diplomacy to help in their decision-making related to foreign policy.

A panel of experts on U.S. foreign policy is scheduled for today.

The meeting brings together more than 200 delegates from 20 countries.
