Raúl receives Ecuadoran VP
On July 10, President Raúl Castro Ruz received the Honorable Jorge Glas Espinel, Vice President of the Republic of Ecuador, who is on an official visit to Cuba.
During the fraternal meeting the two leaders agreed on the need to take advantage of all opportunities to continue improving bilateral relations to benefit both peoples. They also addressed several topics on the international agenda.
Accompanying the distinguished visitor were Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño and Edgar Ponce, Ecuadoran ambassador in Cuba, as well as Eduardo E. Mangas, advisor to the Vice President.
Also representing Cuba at the meeting were Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez; Bruno Rodriguez and Rodrigo Malmierca, ministers of Foreign Relations and of Foreign Trade and Investment, respectively; and Jorge Rodriguez, Cuban ambassador to Ecuador.
