Raul Castro, Leonel Fernandez Meet
Cuban President Raul Castro met in this capital with Dominican President Leonel Fernandez, who is on an official visit to the island.
Both statesmen talked on Thursday about the state of bilateral relations, as well as other regional and international issues.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and his Dominican peer, Carlos Morales, attended the official talks.
Previously, Fernandez gave a magisterial lecture at University of Havana.
Cuba and Dominican Republic established diplomatic relations in 1902, but they were broken off on June 26, 1959, and later reestablished at a consular level on June 27, 1997 and at a diplomatic level on April 16, 1998.
