Cuban President Raul Castro met with his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez on Monday in Ecuador after they participated in the swearing-in ceremony of Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, who was re-elected last April for a second term in office until
2013.

According to Granma newspaper, during the meeting in Quito, the Ecuadorian capital, both leaders spoke of topics related to the close relations between the two nations and about the current international situation.
