President Miguel Diaz-Canel says our homes will be the Plaza
Cuban Pressident Miguel Diaz-Canel says that one's home will serve as the Plaza this May Day. And from our homes, "workers will raise and sustain the Homeland, despite blockades, wars and threats."
Díaz-Canel stated on his official Twitter account that the people are already generating the most beautiful initiatives to parade from social isolation, instead of the capital city's Plaza de la Revolucion, where the central celebration for the date traditionally takes place.
For his part, Deputy Prime Minister Roberto Morales Ojeda said on Twitter that Cubans will celebrate International Workers' Day from the trenches of the struggle against COVID-19, 20 years after the historic concept of Revolution expressed by Fidel Castro, and evoking the experiences that the date holds.
