Peruvians Demand Obama Freedom of Cuban Five
The Peruvian Committee of Solidarity with the Cuban antiterrorists prisoners in U.S. facilities demanded today President Barack Obama freedom for the Cuban antiterrorist fighters, serving long sentences for monitoring terrorist groups acting against their country.
It is never late to make justice. We, the Peruvians identified with this cause, join our voices to millions in every corner of the planet: Free Fernando González, Ramón Labañino, Gerardo Hernández and Antonio Guerrero! said a message sent to Obama on the internet.
The Committee chaired by veteran journalist and social fighter Gustavo Espinoza participated in the global twit for the Cuban Five, consisting on messages through Twitter network to the U.S. ruler, demanding the release of the prisoners.
In addition, the committee also carried out the first programme 5 for the Five, with activists in San Martín square, where they distributed pamphlets with information about the unjust imprisonment of four of them, after freeing René González.
The diffusion activity found warm welcome among passers-by and was described as successful by Espinoza.
