New Expressions of Solidarity with Cuba in Spain
Several Solidarity-with-Cuba organizations in Spain are strengthening their actions to help the island, recently hit by two major hurricanes.
Activists and friends of Cuba in Spain are also stepping up actions to demand the release of the five anti-terrorist fighters unjustly incarcerated in the United States, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.
A report from Andalusia tells about fund raising activities for municipalities of the Cuban province of Pinar del Río.
Other actions announced in Seville are a meeting in Bellavista organized by the Andalusian Organizing Committee for Solidarity to raise funds and a discussion at the La Pedrera town hall to debate Washington’s blockade against Cuba.
Similar initiatives are scheduled for Benalmáneda, Algeciras, Cádiz, Huelva and Córdoba.
The Ernesto Guevara Association of the city of Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid, also launched a campaign to raise items for victims of Hurricanes Gustav and Ike in Cuba.
