Mexican Foreign Secretary Visits Cuba

Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Patricia Espinosa is to arrive in Cuba on Thursday, to fulfill an official invitation by this country''s peer Bruno Rodriguez.

The Mexican diplomat's agenda will include meeting with his Cuban peer, and preside over the Fourth Meeting of the Permanent Mechanism of Information and Political Consultation between the two States, among other activities, the national press reported.

This will be Espinosa's second visit to this Caribbean island. She visited Cuba in 2008, when she led her country's delegation to the third of those mentioned meetings.

Cuba and Mexico established diplomatic relations on May 20, 1902, and they currently maintain links in culture, education, sports and trade.
