Latin Americans, Spaniards Pay Tribute to Jose Marti in Spain

Latin Americans and Spaniards paid tribute today to Jose Marti on occasion of the 161st anniversary of his birth, recalling the validity of his emphasis on unity, highlighted by Cuban ambassador here, Eugenio Martinez. 

Representatives of the Latin American diplomatic staff, Cuban residents, and Spanish friendship associations laid a wreath at the monument to the independence leader.

Today is the moment to recognize and pay tribute to the man who led efforts to join generations of Cubans to reach their independence, in times of necessary unity and support in virtue.

Ambassadors from Venezuela, Mario Isea, Bolivia's Maria del Carmen Almendras, Nicaragua's Veronica Rojas, Colombia's Fernando Carrillo, Ecuador's Miguel Calahorrano, Costa Rica's Ekhart Peters, and Algeria's Mohamed Aneche, participated in the tribute.
