Lat Am Meet on Communication in Cuba
Some 1,300 delegates, about a thousand of them foreigners, confirmed their presence at the 13th Latin American Encounter of Faculties of Social Communication, to headquarter in Havana, Cuba on coming Oct. 19-22, the organizing committee reported Thursday.
The dean of the Faculty of Communication of the University of Havana Julio Garcia said during a press conference the number of students exceeded the number of professors as it traditionally happens in events of the type.
Representative of 23 countries will participate in this gathering, with 176 presentations, chosen by an academic committee, on different themes that target communication as a trans-disciplinary science, Garcia said.
The event, convened by the Latin American Federation of Faculties of Social Communication, created in 1981 and headquartered at Lima, will be running on coming Oct. 20, 21 and 22, with masterly lectures to be given by intellectuals of renowned recognition worldwide.
The so called spaces for Dialogue, among lecturers and the audience, panel discussions and events to take place in parallel, to motivate dialogue among all participants, are also part of the activities to be developed during the event.
