ICT Development at Cuban Conference
The current trends and challenges for the progress of information and communications technology (ICT) in Latin America are under discussion today during the second day of the 16th International Convention and Fair, Informatics 2016.
Chilean Pablo Bello, executive director of the Inter-American Association of Telecommunications Companies (ASIET), will give a keynote speech about the issue.
A workshop entitled "Management of ICT for Technological Sovereignty," by cyberactivist and founder of the International Network of Free Software (RISOL), Uruguayan Enrique Amestoy, will also be held.
Managerial forums and business talks between Cuban companies and more than 30 international firms interested in exchanging experiences and projects on information technology and communications will take place today.
The workshops will run this morning at the Conference Center in Havana and the trade fair is being held at PABEXPO exhibition center, both are located in the west of Havana.
With a presence of more than 300 delegates from 30 countries, the conference provides an environment for debate on the challenges and development of the digital era in Cuba and worldwide.
