Havana Trade Fair Ends
Advances in healthcare, biotechnology, mining and geoscience technology were featured at the 28th Havana International Fair, FIHAV 2010, which ends Saturday.
About 2,000 exhibitors from 58 countries displayed their wares at the ExpoCuba fairgrounds, showing that neither the blockade nor the world economic crisis has been able to affect the opportunities offered by Cuba, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Rodrigo Malmierca, stated.
A day earlier, he reported that over $100 million in contracts had been signed, plus numerous letters of intent.
This 28th edition of the fair emphasized the promotion of the export of services, projects, and products, which constitute a high percentage of export earnings for the island.
Exhibits of food, beverages, medical care services, capital and consumption goods, construction, cosmetics, tourism, and computer sciences were presented at the fair, increasingly gaining the attention of companies worldwide and fairgoers preference.
The fair exhibition area covers near 11,949 square meters, 700 square meters more than the 2009 edition, according to an information from the organizing committee.
Spain and Canada were the best-represented countries at the fair. China, Italy, Panama, Venezuela and Brazil received significant recognitions.
