Haiti Thanks Cuban Solidarity
Haiti''s ambassador to this capital, Jean Vctor Geneus, thanked here the unconditional support Cuba has provided to his country, in the context of the 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both nations.
Before issuing a commemorative stamp on occasion of the date, Geneus recalled that the two Caribbean countries have shared history, culture and a solid friendship dating back to 19th century when, after reaching its independence in 1804, Haiti collaborated with the emancipating struggles of the region.
According to a report from the Cuban News Agency, the diplomat stated that despite economic difficulties, Cuba has maintained since 1998 the presence of medical staff in his territory, and thanks to the island's support, hundreds of Haitian youth have graduated as doctors, other health specialties, and other areas.
