French Minister of Foreign Trade to Attend Cuban Fair
The Secretary of Foreign Trade of France, Matthias Fekl, kicks off today a two-day visit to Cuba on occasion of the 33rd International Fair of Havana, Fihav 2015.
Accompanied by a delegation of business people, Fekl is scheduled to meet with several officials of the Cuban government, according to a communique released by the Foreign Ministry of France.
He is also scheduled to officially open the French pavilion at Fihav and to visit the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, in Havana.
Fekl's visit, six months after that of President Francois Hollande's, is expected to contribute to support the development of bilateral relations, said the communique.
France is a very important trade partner of Cuba, in a general sense, and particularly within the European Union, stated Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, during a visit to France in July.
