Fidel Castro Meets Chinese Foreign Minister

Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro met with Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Yang Jiechi, during which they talked on international issues and the state of bilateral relations.

The first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party also sent greetings to Chinese President Hu Jintao and the main leaders of that Asian nation.

After concluding the meeting, the Cuban revolution leader gave the Asian nation's diplomatic head the edition in Chinese language of the book "Cien horas con Fidel" (One Hundred Hours with Fidel) with a personal dedication. He also gave him the new book "La victoria estrategica" (The Strategic Victory).

Cuba and the People's Republic of China established diplomatic relations on September 28, 1960 and, after five decades, the two governments have brought out the good course of links.

Cooperation between both nations includes biotechnology, health, info-communications, renewable energy development, and professional training, the daily states.
