FARC-EP Claims to Have Faith in Colombians for Peace
The delegation of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP) in the table of dialogue with the Colombian government said today that its confidence in the people of that country to achieve peace.
"We are working hard with immense faith in the ability of the Colombian people for achieving peace, which we all want", Marquez said after arriving in the Conference Center at about 08:30 local time (13:30 GMT).
Minutes later, the Government delegation, headed by former vice president Humberto de la Calle, arrived at the Havana facility.
For third consecutive day, representatives of the governemnt of Juan Manuel Santos arrived at the venue of the talks without offering comments to the dozens of national journalists and 16 countries represented here to a process with Cuba and Norway as guarantors and Venezuela and Chile as companions.
So far, the have been marked by discretion the partis on table, which is governed by a five-point agenda previously agreed in this capital, which includes comprehensive agricultural development, political participation, the end of armed conflict, the problem of drug trafficking and care for victims.
In statements on his arrival in the capital, de la Calle considered essential to maintain discretion in the process.
"We have the national and international experiences, and we have agreed with the FARC, protocols to provide responsible information, said in comments that had access to Prensa Latina.
The delegations of the government and the FARC-EP has expressed optimism about the peace talks, as well as its commitment to achieving that goal.
