FAO''s Sub regional Coordinator for Mesoamerica, Tito Diaz, is participating in a workshop here today about the improvement of livestock resources, attended by representatives of 12 countries, among them Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba , Spain and Mexico.
 
This meeting is being held parallel to the 5th International Congress of Animal Improvement, opened yesterday in the presence of 210 specialists -including 60 expects of more than 20 nations-, according to a note of the Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Cuba.
 
Diaz, also FAO representative in Panama, will be in Cuba until Friday, Mar. 18, date in which the Congress will conclude. He expects to meet with officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and other agencies.
 
The forum is organized by the Research Center for Animal Improvement of the Tropical Livestock, located in this capital.
 
FAO currently runs in Cuba a project linked to the production of milk and meat.
