Experts from 20 Countries to Discuss on Agroecology in Cuba

About 200 experts, producers, and representatives of rural organizations from 20 countries will participate in the 4th International Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture, to be run on November 17 to 24, according to organizers.

This meeting will take place at the "Niceto Perez" National Training Center, in the western province of Mayabeque, and will allow, among its main objectives, to present to the world the progress of Cuban agriculture on cooperative, diversification, and commercialization of agricultural production.

Participants in the event, organized by the National Organization of Small Farmers (ANAP) and the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG), will examine issues, such as sovereignty and food security on sustainable basis, protection of natural resources, and the environment.

They will also evaluate the economic and financial experiences of the sustainable production system, social and institutional factors of the agro-ecological agriculture, technological advances in the sector, and gender and cooperatives.

The forum, which will include the 2nd Meeting of Promoters, will analyze discussions and debates in different spaces and formats, such as roundtables, interactive panels, workshops for exchanges, symposia, and discussion meetings.
