Events of solidarity with Puerto Rico's independence to be held in Havana
The Independence cause of the People of Puerto Rico will be promoted in Havana between September 12th and the 23rd, with the participation of representatives of political parties, social movements and activists from that sister Caribbean island.
The meeting, sponsored by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), will be dedicated to the centennial of Lolita Lebrón on November 19th, and to the 40th anniversary of the release of the four Puerto Rican nationalist heroes.
It will also serve to highlight the resistance, heroism and struggle of Puerto Ricans for the freedom of their country, colonized by the United States.
Representatives of the Puerto Rican Independence Party; 'Las Lolitas'; the Hostosian National Independence Movement; the Socialist Front; Poets on the March and collaborators of the solidarity movement with Cuba are expected to attend.
Those attending the event will pay tribute to the patriots of that nation in the Fraternity Park, the Colón necropolis and the Anti-Imperialist Tribune.
