Ecuadorian President for Release of Cuban Five

President Rafael Correa expressed full backing to Cuba and solidarity with the five anti-terrorist Cuban fighters unfairly held in US prisons for over 14 for monitoring anti-Cuban actions by US-based groups.

In an exclusive interview with Prensa Latina, the leader of ruling Alianza PAIS Movement, reelected president through 2017, lamented the sorrow caused by imperial arrogance and international double standards.

Where was due process there in the trial against Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez?, he wondered.

"Our full solidarity with Cuba, with those five Cuban heroes, their relatives because of that criminal violation that is ruining their lives," he said.

He sent greetings to Fidel and Raul Castro and noted that Cuba is an example of dignity, a reference for all and can always count on Ecuador.
