Ecuador´s Foreign Minister Fander Falconi claimed in Doha, Qatar that relations with Cuba are thriving.

We have shared a common approach to current geopolitical issues. We support Cuba and reject the US-imposed blockade on the island state, Falconi told Prensa Latina.

The Foreign Affairs Minister, who is representing Ecuador at the 2nd South American-Arab League Summit, recalled President Rafael Correa´s recent visit to Cuba.

“We have consolidated a group of cooperation agreements, searching for economical complementarities, technology transference and bio-technology projects,” he pointed out.

Falconi also thanked Cuba for granting Ecuadoran students scholarships to study medicine at the Havana-based Latin American Medicine School.
