Dayron Robles Tours Hurricane-hit Areas
110 meter hurdles Olympic champion and world record holder Dayron Robles toured several areas of the eastern Baracoa municipality that were affected by the passing of Hurricane Ike Robles, along eastern Guantanamo province authorities, visited the Nibujon district, virtually erased by the hurricane, as well as the seafront area, hit twice this year by strong waves, that caused hundreds of houses to collapse.
The Olympic champion after his return to Cuba last Sept 16 expressed his wish to see Baracoa and have a first-hand rapprochement to the people
who suffered from the meteor.
Robles is staying 15 days in his home province to recover from an ankle injury and to enjoy the company of his family whom he hadn’t seen in over six months that this season lasted, when he set his 12.87 sec world record.
