Cuban Vice President Welcomes Minister-President of Flemish Region of Belgium

Cuba's Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz welcomed Tuesday in Havana the Minister-President of the Flemish Region of Belgium, Geert Bourgeois who is on a working visit to the island.
 
Both officials ratified the positive state of relations between Cuba and Belgium in particular the Flemish region.
 
Both sides highlighted the traditional cooperation ties between Cuba and the Flemish region especially in higher education and expressed their commitment in strengthening economic-commercial ties.
 
The Cuban Vice President recognized the constructive traditional role of Belgium in the context of ties between the Caribbean country and the European Union.
 
The distinguished visitor is heading a business delegation with representatives of 26 entities.
 
Present in the talks were Belgium's ambassador to Cuba, Patrick Van Gheel and the General Director of the Business and Investment Promotion agency of the Flemish Region.
 
On Cuba's side were the Director of Europe and Canada of the Foreign Ministry, Elio Rodriguez, Director of Commercial Policy for Europe of the Foreign Trade and Investment Ministry, Pedro Luis Padron.
