Cuban Unionists for Cuba on May Day
The Workers' Central Union of Cuba (CTC) exhorted on Monday people to massively attend May Day celebrations, rejected the media campaign orchestrated from the United States and Europe.
In a release spread today by the country's main media, the CTC called to unity faced with the harassment from larger powerful centers and supporting economic transformations implemented in the nation to strengthen socialism.
"Enemies of the Revolution have planned a hypocrite defamation campaign, in complicity with internal agents, paid with the US government's funds and the interested participation of European partners," the document stated.
Faced with those slanders, Cuban workers, who have never ceded nor will give in to media terror, will ratify our position, as firmly held by the Five, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Rene Gonzalez and Fernando Gonzalez, who are unfairly imprisoned in US jails since September 1998, the article noted.
The parade will be a supporting act for the Revolution and transformations of the economic model, as a guarantee to continue socialism, and preserve the national independence and sovereignty.
