Cuban President Meets Guinea Bissau PM
President Raul Castro met with Guinea Bissau Prime Minister Carlos Gomes who pays an official visit to Cuba that ends this Sunday.
Juventud Rebelde daily says both statesmen addressed Saturday matters of common interest, like the healthy state of bilateral ties and interest for further expansion, the international situation and the respective challenges.
On behalf of his people, Gomes voiced gratitude for Cuba's aid, especially in education and health care.
President Raul Castro reaffirmed Cuba's will to keep such contributions and thanked the Guinean people and government solidarity gestures.
The meeting was attended by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez; Salomea Neves, wife of the Guinean Premier, and Maria Adiatu Djalo Nandigna, Guinean minister for Foreign Trade, Cooperation and Communities.
Also present were Aristides Ocante da Silva, minister for Education, Culture and Science, and Public Health Minister Camilo Simoes Pereira.
