Cuban Oil Workers to Deliver One Million Tons

Workers of the Cuban Petroleum Drilling and Extraction Company (EPEP-C) intensify Monday their work to soon complete one million tons of that hydrocarbon extracted this year.

When that goal is reached, they would have accomplished for the fifth consecutive time that number that now exceeds 38 thousand tons of the planned number for 2009.

Granma daily highlights Monday that this result would ratify EPEP-C as the most efficient oil company of the Caribbean island, which in hard times maintains productive indicators in an oilfield that has more than three decades.

During that period, workers accomplished an exploitation rate of 98 per cent in more than 170 active oil wells, pointed the head of EPEP-C business group Yodalis Hernandez.

The mentioned company holds the National Environmental acknowledgement in the category of cleanest industry, which was conferred by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA).

It is also National Reference Center on Air Quality and Healthy Work Environment, which was an award bestowed upon by the Ministry of Public Health and the Pan American Health Organization.
