Cuban FM Rejects U.S. Decision
The Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, has categorically rejected the decision of the US government to include Cuba once again in the list of states that support international terrorism, and demanded that it be removed from it immediately.
In statements to the press in Brasilia last night after he met with his Brazilian counterpart, Celso Amorin, the Cuban FM stressed that only three hours before he had conveyed Havana willingness to open a dialogue with the U.S. to discuss pending bilateral issues without affecting national sovereignty and upon reciprocal basis.
He called it an unjust and mendacious act, a hypocritical action, because theres no other country like Cuba that has been the target of terrorism, historically originated from the U.S. territory.
"I denounce the hypocritical nature and politically motivated inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries that sponsor terrorism", he stressed.
Right after the U.S. government made the list public, Josefina Vidal, director of the North American department of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, released a statement yesterday which underlines that "once again the United States is questioning the seriousness of the commitment made by Cuba in the fight against international terrorism, and maintains one of the most irrational aspects of its hostile policy towards Cuba".
The indicates that the US is also demonstrating its double standard by keeping the five Cuban anti-terrorists in unjust imprisonment while at the same time allowing Luis Posada Carriles to live in the US in freedom with complete impunity, along with others who have admitted responsibility for horrendous acts of terrorism against Cuba.
