Cuban FM Meets Solidarity Movements with Cuba in Ukraine

Tue Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez met representatives of the Ukrainian solidarity movement with Cuba and visited historical and cultural sights in the second day of his official visit to Ukraine. 

In the morning, he toured National Kievo-Pecherskiy historical and cultural reserve and the "National Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" accompanied to Cuban ambassador to Ukraine. 

Then, Rodriguez held talks with activists of the Solidarity Movement with Cuba, who organized in October an international scientific-practical conference under the name "From grateful Ukraine to the noble Cuba" at the National Technical University of Ukraine "KPI". 

The event was dedicated to the 20 anniversary of the Cuban care program for children victims of Chernobyl nuclear accident, which benefited some 26,000 Ukrainians. 

Friday, Rodriguez met Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich and Foreign Minister Konstantin Grischenko. They talked about the state of the bilateral ties and prospects of economic cooperation. 

Sunday, Rodriguez will visit St. Sophia Cathedral and the Museum of History of Ukraine.
