Cuban Delegation Shares Educational Experiences in Angola

The members of a delegation of rectors from Cuban universities are touring today many educational centers in Angola, after participating along with Angolan teachers in a forum for exchanges in the capital.

The Cuban delegation, composed of 15 members, attended here the 2nd Angola-Cuba Meeting of University Rectors, an event with broad public impact that enabled to share common experiences on manys aspects of higher education in the two countries.

During an activity held yesterday in the Cuban embassy in Angola, Oberto Santin, Deputy International Relations Minister of the Higher Education in Cuba, told Prensa Latina that the forum allowed the strengthening of cooperation between both nations, which was expanded in recent years.

In addition to the scientific research, the meeting discussed the training of students and teacher, as an important element of the educational process, he said.

Cuba has 410 higher education collaborators in Angola, which, together with the remaining Cuban staff in that sector, contribute in the education of students in areas such as engineering, agriculture, medicine, education, and sports, Santin stated.

Deysi Cedre Fraga, rector of the Enrique Jose Varona Pedagogical Sciences University in Havana, said that high education center has an extensive experience in training students in many educational careers.

In turn, Angolan Higher Education Minister Adao do Nascimento told this agency that Angola is now moving in that branch with the invaluable cooperation of Cuba, whose professionals teach with love and dedication.
