Cuban Congress of Cardiology To Be Held in Havana

"Cardiovascular Diseases: our challenge in the XXI Century" is the motto of the VIII Cuban Congress of Cardiology, that will be held in Havana from June 3 to 6.

Subjects such as prevention, diagnostic imaging with cutting-edge techniques, medical, interventional, surgical and rehabilitation treatments, among others, make up the scientific agenda of the event, involving national and international experts.

At the same time, there will also be held the Global Forum on Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation in the Clinical Practice and the XXI International Symposium and the IX National Workshop on Interventional Cardiology.

Doctor Eduardo Rivas Estany, president of the Cuban Society of Cardiology and the organizing committe, said the meeting is intended to perform an update of the specialty, and to show the results of the cardiology research in the area.

In the digital site pf the congress, the specialist also said that he seeks to improve the overall care of patients with various forms of disorders of the heart and blood vessels in Latin America and the world.

Before the opening, several courses on pediatric cardiology, diabetes and heart arrhythmias, rehabilitation and prevention, cardiovascular surgery, and update on hypertension and cardiovascular risk will be taught.

A commercial scientific exhibition could be visited in the main room of the Convention Center, venue of the congress, where companies, laboratories, universities, hospitals and specialized brands will exhibit and commercialize equipments, products, technologies, medicines and other related materials.
