Cuban Antiterrorist Rene Gonzalez JoinsTwitter Account
Rene Gonzalez, one of the Cuban Five who has managed to get out of jail after serving since 1998 in the United States for monitoring the actions of extremist groups against the island, opened his account on Twitter.
Thus, Gonzalez ventures into popular social network with the user @ ReneCuban5 as a way to continue the struggle for the release of his four companions.
"Freedom for my brothers! Fernando, Ramón, Antonio and Gerardo: freethefive.org", the Cuban antiterrorist says about.
González with Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino and Fernando Gonzalez were jailed 15 years ago and subjected to lengthy terms by U.S. authorities for monitoring extremist groups which organized and financed terrorist actions against Cuba from U.S. territory.
Nowadays, only Rene Gonzalez is on the island after serving his sentence and giving up his U.S. citizenship.
However, the antiterrorist recalled in one of his first messages on Twitter that "Fernando González, Hero of # Cuba, will leave prison on February 27. We must remain alert to ensure his prompt return to Cuba, "he urged.
