Cuban Agricultural Technicians Discuss on Agroecology
More than 300 members of the National Association of Agricultural and Forestry Technicians (ACTAF) discuss today and tomorrow in this capital the use of agroecology and institutional strategy of the organization until 2016, among others issues.
The event, taking place at the Havana's Hotel Nacional, will also debate the use and management of diversity and sustainability, women's participation in the field, as well as the statutes of the organization.
Parallel to this event is an urban forestry symposium, in which participants will discuss the forest management in the city and community participation, among other issues.
ACTAF president Idalmis Nazco recently stated that among the tasks of the partnership are to assist the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG) in the tasks assigned to that body, in updating the economic and social model of the country.
About this issue, the expert mentioned some aspects of a fundamental programs group the institution carries out, as those related to agroecology, local agricultural development (including urban and suburban agriculture, and cooperatives).
Nazco talked of the importance of the project linked to the strengthening of cooperative as a training development line, and which is very in keeping with the advance of the productive forces and the Basic Units of Cooperative Production.
