Cuba to Set up Municipal Assemblies

The Council of States of the Republic of Cuba, in full use of the powers vested in it in the Article 90 of the country's Constitution and in accordance with the provisions of the October 29, 1992 Electoral Law 72, Article 126, has adopted, by means of an agreement dated May 3 that delegates elected in the April 25 elections, runoff and third-choice round of voting to shape the Municipal People's Power Assemblies proceed to create, on May 19, such assemblies for a new two-and-a-half-year mandate.
