The text indicates that the public health care is a high-priority issue for the governments of Mexico and Cuba, "aware therefore that diseases know no borders and must be addressed in a coordinated manner at global level, depending on the possibilities of each country'.

It points out that as full expression of their cooperation and international solidarity to face one of the largest public health emergencies in recent times that has beaten a group of West African countries, the governments of Cuba and Mexico have decided to join forces to help meet the Ebola virus outbreak in those countries.

It recognizes that, in response to an international call from the World Health Organization (WHO), the government of Cuba has agreed to send to several countries in west Africa, in particular Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, a large delegation of health care professionals including infectologists, epidemiologists, and nurses.

Mexico, for its part, will participate with a financial contribution to the World Health Organization (WHO), in the specialized equipment of these brigades, added the official text.
